Andreas Posmeck moves into the advisory board – Mathis Boldt is the new CEO
Berlin, 2 March 2023. 27 years after the founding of GIATA, Andreas Posmeck leaves the executive management team and joins the supervisory board. Mathis Boldt takes over as CEO.
In 1996 when one founder happened to give a lift to the other from Berlin to Kassel they hatched an idea that is now, 27 years later, a company with 90 employees and clients in more than 80 countries.
Andreas Posmeck founded the company in the late 1990s with Remzi Aru and has made it a global market leader in the field of travel content.
Mathis Boldt is a well-known figure in tourism. For many years he was director for Germany, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe at Booking.com, before transferring in 2012 to the company headquarters in Amsterdam, where he took responsibility for the worldwide partner business as Director Global Strategic Partnerships. In 2015 he switched as Vice President to the Berlin-based tour and activity provider GetYourGuide.com, where he took charge of internationalisation while developing and leading a team of 150 staff in 15 locations.
“I’m very pleased to add a new chapter to the GIATA success story and to be able to build on the achievements of Andreas and Remzi. GIATA is ideally positioned, has an excellent reputation and a strong market position in one of the most important fields of the travel industry”
